Kendrick Woods – Heron Hollow Wetland Access
Kendrick Woods – Heron Hollow Wetland Access is a 59-acre natural area owned and managed by the Johnny Appleseed Park District, which acquired the property in the early 2000’s. Nestled along the scenic Auglaize River and adjoining both Kendrick Woods and Cottonwood Trail Access, this site serves as a vital connection in the region’s protected natural corridor. Thanks to support from the H2Ohio Grant Program, Heron Hollow has been carefully restored to include thriving wetland and riparian habitats, providing essential filtering for clean water and a haven for native wildlife. The area offers excellent opportunities for birdwatching and nature observation, with a variety of wetland species frequenting the site throughout the year.

More About the Park
The Park District encourages everyone to visit the property but would like to remind everyone to pay attention to the water levels of the Auglaize River. If flooding is occurring, the trails will be closed for public safety reasons as much of the trail system goes underwater during a flood event. We hope that you enjoy your time here and leave with great memories that you can cherish for a lifetime.
