Huber Wetland and Riparian Restoration
ADVERTISEMENT TO BID
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Huber Wetland and Riparian Restoration, for the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will be received by the park district at 1682 Slabtown Road, Lima, Ohio 45801 until 1:30 P.M., local time, November 6, 2024 and at that time and place will be publicly opened and read.
The work for which Bids are invited consists of the furnishing of all materials and labor for the combined construction of the following:
The Huber Wetland and Riparian Restoration consists of the construction of approximately 52.84 acres of forested wetlands and the grading of floodplain benches and wetland pools along the Auglaize River. Some excess material generated in these areas will be used to create a berms throughout the project site to assist in capturing and retaining water, while other excess material will be stockpiled on site or taken to a chosen off-site facility. Additionally, approximately 54.89 acres of riparian planting will take place along different areas on park land along the Auglaize River.
The total estimated construction cost for the Huber Wetland and Riparian Restoration project is $1,125,000.00. A copy of the contract documents may be acquired from The Builder’s Exchange, Inc. website (https://home.bxohio.com/)
Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.
Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of the project. Additionally, contractor compliance with equal employment opportunity requirements of the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive Order of 1972, and Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.
Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Allen County as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division, (614) 644-2239.
The right is reserved by the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District officials to reject any and all Bids, to waive informalities or to accept any Bid which is deemed favorable to the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District.

Farm Ground Rental
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Farm Ground Rent (2025-2027)
The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District is soliciting Request for Proposals for farm rent for the term of three (3) years (January 1, 2025- December 31, 2027).
Sealed proposals will be accepted until 9:59AM on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Proposals should be mailed or dropped off at the Park District Headquarters located at 1682 Slabtown Road, Lima, Ohio 45801, ATTN: Tyler Black, FARM BID.
Proposals will be opened on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 10:00AM in the conference room at the Park District Headquarters. Once opened, proposals will be reviewed by the Board of Park Commissioners and a decision made at the December 2024 Board meeting.
